Artful was established in 2023 by Achieve Australia in partnership with Accessible Arts to connect artists with the community so everyone can explore their creative expression in a fun and social way. Our tagline, "Creative expression for all," reflects our commitment to including people of all abilities, ages, and locations across Australia.
We noticed that many events were designed just for people with disabilities. With Artful, we wanted to create a welcoming space where everyone could explore their creative potential. We especially wanted to encourage and support people with disabilities to join in and be part of a broader community event.
In 2023, we held the first Artful Art Prize and received _____ submissions from all over Australia. You can see the winning artworks here.
Thanks to its great success, Artful will now be a biennial event, starting again in ____ 2025. This gives our wonderful artists more time to create their submissions and helps us keep the event inclusive and creative.
This will begin in 2025, where we will hold workshops that will provide everyone the opportunity to express themselves through a variety of art genres such as painting, drawing, photography and 3D art. Learn more about our workshops here.
We're really excited about Artful 2025, with its theme 'Reflection of Reality,' which explores what you see, feel, and think. Fi Bridger, our Researcher and Writer, came up with this theme. She believes life is like a mirror reflecting our thoughts, experiences, and beliefs. Fi hopes everyone will use this theme to self-reflect and create art that truly expresses who they are.
